Now before I start this post, I must share a disclaimer that I am by no means a qualified nutritionist, awesome clean eating, healthy eating, living life to the fullest expert. I’m a regular mum, with a lot of common sense, who has developed a pattern of making healthy smoothies regularly, not only for myself but also for my kids – who love them – over the last couple of years. There’s no denying the benefits of homemade smoothies, this is straight to the gut vitamins and minerals kinda stuff and why I’m rounding up 3 of the best healthy smoothie recipes for a mama glow.
Using a smoothie making machine allows you to get a whole load of different fruits and vegetables whizzed up in under 10 seconds into a delicious drink or meal (I often have one for breakfast). The kids like some decanted into a small yoghurt pot for them to scoop out of. Now. there’s a difference between smoothies and ‘healthy’ smoothies. The latter is less sugar rich and introduces other elements, like vegetables, oils, seeds, proteins and milks to kick start your body, revive your immune system, clear your skin and rev up your metabolism.
Now you should try and have a healthy smoothie once a day, which isn’t that hard when you think of it, as it only takes a couple of minutes. I’ll be honest and say I don’t, but I try to have one as much as possible and use it as a good opportunity to use up any nutritious fruit or veg on the cusp of being chucked. My base tends to be greens (spinach or kale) for a green smoothie and beetroot for a red one, with another vegetable, courgettes are great, banana and/ or apple and one other surprise fruit to finish. I top this all off with a spoon of oats, chia seeds, another seed mix, ginger and raw coconut oil.
However, if you prefer a bit more structure to your healthy smoothie recipes making, check out these amazingly nutritious options. With all of these recipes the aim is to chuck them in the smoothie maker in one go, press the button and get ready for some tasty results. Drink them regularly and you’ll be unable to hide the mama glow. #YoureWelcome

JUST as I was saying I need to get back on the smoothies, your post appeared before my very eyes! Great tips on ingredients I’ve never tried before – thank you. I use loads of spinach and then mostly fruit as well as some milled flaxseed which a bowel specialists told me I needed (sorry – TMI!) and sometimes a dollop of natural yoghurt. Brocolli and courgette in a smoothie is all new to me! Can you believe I had never even had a smoothie until I bought myself a nutribullet!?
Well that is what we call Serendepity, amazing timing and so glad it’s useful. Yes I love courgettes in particular in smoothies. Hey this is a safe space to share TMI -haha! Yvadney xx
I recently got a smoothie maker, so Im excited to try out some new recipes. Especially that skin cleanser one.
Yey! It’s amazing how powerful fruits and vegetables are – enjoy your smoothie maker xxx
